Facebook

Ok, so I joined Facebook and have no idea what to do with it.  I figured out how to create my profile, add some photos and some other applications.

I also figured out how to search my address book to find people that belong to Facebook and send them a friend request.  However, I can't seem to find any easy way to search for people in general.  Am I missing something along the way that allows you to search new profiles, or people in certain career categories?

I found how to add groups....but there are thousands of them, and a lot of them are not even real estate related but were added to the real estate categories.

My question to you if you are using Facebook, what are you doing with it?  Did you just set up a profile but didn't do anything else with it or are you using it for advertising and/or networking?  I know it's supposed to be like MySpace, only a lot bigger....but I find it very hard to navigate around and try to figure things out.

I'd like to add more people as friends, like some of the familiar names and faces here, but I don't know how to search for them.  I'd also like to join some other groups, but found no easy way to narrow down a search and I didn't want to search through hundreds or thousands of groups to find some to join.

Should I be expecting anything out of joining Facebook?  Meaning, what good has it done you to join?

I tried it and really did not like it. I could not figure out what to do with the site.

I was invited to Facebook a few weeks ago but haven't taken the time to discover anything other than there is an ActiveRain group.

It seems it is still being played with.  I have heard many comments that it is not user friendly and other negatives.  Give it time to serve its purpose... I hear it is still in tweaking stages.

Becky...thanks for commenting on my recent post. Also, I enjoyed reading this piece. I signed up on My Space and am waiting for NBC Dateline to show up at my door any day now.

LMAO @ Geno.  I signed up on MySpace too....and so far, so good.  No surprises at my door.  WHEW!!!  I think you'll be safe!  LOL...

I guess I just need to wait for Facebook to work some more of the bugs out and hopefully it will become a little bit easier to navigate.

I did join Face Book but I did it because Hubba (Jeff Turner) made me to it :)

I haven't spent very much time on it. Right now I am questioning that whole 'poke' thing they have going on in there :)

LOL...they are climbing those walls to get you!  Build it and they will come, remember? 

I'm not sure about the poke thing either.  They have weird things on there, like karate chop someone, drop kick them, but them a beer, lick them.....all kinda strange things!
